Backup and restore

If you want to install a new version of DigDash Enterprise or migrate to a new environment (from a test environment to a production environment, change the server machine, etc.), you can back up and restore the data in your current environment:
- Users, roles and authorisation groups,
- Dashboards,
- Wallets and data models,
- Images, data dictionaries (translations, formats, connections, colour palettes, etc.), etc.
- Data sources: data sources in the Common Datasources directory can be backed up.
There are two ways of backing up/restoring data:
- Manual: you need to select the items you want to back up and then generate a zip file that you can then use to restore them to the new environment or version.
See the page Manual backup and restore page for more details. - Automated: via the backuptools.jar tool to be run on the server.
See the page Automated backup and restore (backuptools) page for more details.
💡 The automatic maintenance service also performs an automatic backup of the environment before cleaning up the files. See the page Automatic Maintenance Service for more details.
It is possible to restore this backup manually.
